Info about the A Stage for Everyone
“A Stage for Everyone” is a project designed by the staff and students at a large school in Bulgaria. The main goal of this project is to turn the school’s current auditorium into a functioning theatre/meeting/presentation room.
The renovation of the auditorium, which has a seating capacity of 250 and a spacious stage, will provide students and teachers at the school with a fresh and useable creative space with new technology (in the form of a sound system and multimedia equipment) to help them be seen and heard. Once the equipment is purchased, teachers will be given training on its set-up and use so they will be gaining new skills and knowledge. Also, students who watch films or give presentations in the new room will be more likely to do so again, once they see their work on the “big screen”, so to speak. Choir, dance and theater performances will become more popular and will enrich the student’s lives in an artistic and creative way.
In addition to a 65% community contribution, the students in the school are contributing by organizing and implementing small-scale fundraisers of their own design. These events, such as Talent Night and the St. Valentine’s Day Ball will pay for small items in the theater, such as paint or new stage flats, but the experience the children get in organizing the fundraisers will stay with them for years to come.
“A Stage for Everyone” will create a viable, usable space for many years to come, and will give students positive and useful experience in project design management.
