[edit] Description of Service

I served in Guatemala froom late 1988 to early 1991. It was a life changing experience. I was initially sent to do crop diversification but ended up building wood conserving stoves and elemenatry schools in outlying villages.

[edit] About Anneliese Harper Today

I am a professor of Intercultural Communication because I was a Peace Corps Volunteer. I returned to the villages to do research for my Master's thesis and dissertation. I have traveled to 22 different countries since I was a PeaceCorps Volunteer and I have returned to Guatemala approximately 12 times (every Christmas for several years). I am in regular and frequent contact with people I worked with in the villages. I am fluent in Spanish and see the world from a far different vantage point than I might had I never gone.
