Info about the Atakpamé HIV/AIDS Run for World AIDS Day

FESTHES is an association of theatre troupes in Atakpame. This group organizes an annual theatre festival for World AIDS Day. This year, the group has decided to expand its World AIDS Day activities to include an awareness-raising march through the city. The run will take place in the first week in December 2004. Local radio stations will publicize the event and FESTHES members will also recruit participants. Every marcher will receive a t-shirt with HIV/AIDS prevention messages.

FESTHES now requests Partnership assistance to execute these activities. Partnership funds will be used for meals and transportation for organizers, t-shirts, and publicity. The community will also be contributing publicity costs, FESTHES performance fees, and organizers' salaries.
