Info about the Children with Different Destinies - Common Dreams and Ambitions
The primary goals of the proposed project are to increase the opportunity for employment among the 500 disabled children with serious physical or mental disabilities living in the city of Yambol, encourage volunteerism in the community, and increase the integration between disabled children and mainstream society. Through the proposed training and practical volunteer experience, they will acquire the tools they need to survive in today¿s world. The Municipal Organization for the Disabled (MOD) is a NGO in Yambol which has been operating since 1991 and is dedicated to helping people with disabilities integrate into society. MOD is seeking funds for three computer workstations, a printer, scanner, computer bureau, transportation costs, and for press conferences in order to publicize this project and the donors. The equipment purchases will be used to provide basic, practical computer skills in MS WORD, Photoshop, Internet, and proper use of printers and scanners. The Scientific and Technical Unions-Yambol (NTC), a local NGO, along with computer-certified adult members of the Disabled Home, will provide basic computer training to the children. Following implementation of this project, the 18 children who receive training will volunteer their time by assisting the MOD in the preparation of documents, brochures, pamphlets, and other tasks involving the skills they have learned through this course.
