Info about the Development of a Youth Basketball Program

The development of a Youth Basketball Program has two objectives:

Objective 1: To establish the infrastructure that is necessary for the proper development of a youth basketball league, including: qualified coaching, safe and proper equipment, monetary funding, regional and national basketball memberships and a community support group.

Objective 2: To provide an opportunity for young people to learn about the game of basketball and all of the life skills (teamwork, leadership, accountability) that it teaches.

Young people in a municipality in Southwest Bulgaria have very limited opportunities for participation in group activities, especially ones that exercise the mind and body at the same time. The community is in need of monetary resources in order to capitalize on the human resources available. These two together will provide for the success and sustainability of the project.

The community will provide funds to cover a portion of the project as well as in-kind donations in the form of free rent, utilities, coaching services and installation services
