Info about the Environmental Education and Training Program
In the North of Thailand, there are growing environmental issues. The schools and community adults in a small rural community in the Northern Province would like to start making changes in their daily lives that will help to reduce these environmental problems. By educating the community on the current problems and training the students and community on how to make simple changes in their lives, we can help improve the lives of everyone in the community.
This project consists of holding educational sessions at three schools in the villages and teaching the students and teachers about recycling and composting properly at the school. There will also be an adult education training session, where we will discuss the importance of reducing trash burning and increasing recycling in the home. We will also begin a Recycle Center for people in the community to use.
Following the training sessions, students will create murals at their schools that represent what they would like to see in the future regarding the environment and their villages. The murals will not only be a creative project for the students, but will also show the families in the community that the students are thinking about their future.
Overall, this project has many components that can make changes in the lives of the people in this community. Through trainings, planning activities, murals and weekly activities, we can help reduce the environmental issues that the community currently faces.
