After his tour in the PC, Fred C. Hoebel hitchhiked across West Africa. He went on to the University of Chicago for a Masters' in Clinical Social Work. After graduating, he worked in the Fort Logan Mental Health Center in Denver, Colorado some two years and then went on to obtain his Ph.D. as a Clinical Psychologist at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, California. He worked with the Mental Research Institute's Brief Therapy Center, and married a Lebanese-Venezuelan while in the San Francisco Bay area, and then immigrated to Caracas, Venezuela where he has been in private practice since 1976 to the present.
