READ ME: I also worked briefly on the staff in the Philippines after finishing my very satisfying time in Thailand. It was a temporary job as administrative assistant helping train new volunteers who were going to work in Thailand in the field of malaria eradication. Maurice Bean was country director then in Manila. This also was highly interesting, but lasted only two months until the training was complete. Then back to the States and I was drafted -- soon in SE Asia again, this time carrying an M16, with a radio on my back.
