[edit] Description of Service

This was a group of coaches and former college athletes and english teachers dedicated to university education. We trained at what was Texas Western/El Paso, now UTEP. We were housed in the El Paso Hilton, one of the very first, and had a great group of diverse volunteers. We also did a survival, outdoor camp in Puerto Rico in the mountains with a variety of hiking, camping, rope skills. We still have periodic reunions and contact thanks to Email and cell phones.

[edit] About Mike Town Today

Peace Corps made me appreciate much about the world and how sports can bind folks together regardless of differences. I have continued to coach and be a life learner. My career has been in justice and dispute resolution and as a trial judge with almost 30 years of experience, I continually draw on those formative life lessons learned in Colombia. Our four children and grandchildren grow up hearing about my heart for the people of Colombia and Latin America.

[edit] Publications based on Peace Corps Experience

I have published many articles, both in the professional and popular press on fairness, justice, dispute resolution and ways to promote a safer, fairer world. I continue to speak and consult abroad and within the USA in the legal, judicial arenas.
