I started teaching at a high school in a remote district in the northeast of Thailand; after six months I transferred to a job where I was a supervisor of English teaching in another province, but going into much more remote districts and villages to work with Thai teachers and students. In 2005 I returned to help with tsunami relief, creating a couple of databases to help with relief efforts there.
