Christine Claypoole worked as a Rural Community Development volunteer in Benin, West Africa, primarily focusing on health. She did six weeks of training in rural South Carolina (Penn Center) on animal husbandry and agriculture then did three months of training in Pagala, Togo focusing on health, language and culture. Her site was an hour south of Parakou.

Currently she works in international public health as the Deputy Director, International Division of John Snow, Inc. located in Boston. She also serves on the board of the Boston Area RPCV group.
