Info about the Eco Meters Across Ukraine

In an industrial country like Ukraine, environmental protection is almost non-existent. Because Ukraine’s economy is largely dependent on the mining industry and producing manufactured goods, environmental degradation has proven a formidable opponent in the effort to keep Ukraine clean.

Eco Meters Across Ukraine is a project designed to focus on this problem and spread awareness about a much neglected issue. The Eco Meters project will clean litter and graffiti at various urban sites across Ukraine, followed by events that enlist local youth to paint multiple meters of environmental murals throughout some of Ukraine’s most polluted cities. The initial project will consist of eight painting events throughout the Donbas region of Ukraine. Each event will be partnered with a different NGO or non-profit organization and will include public forums, community clean-ups, and mural painting.

Sponsorship and community contribution have already been recruited and will come in the form of equipment, advertisements, and travel expenditures. The Eco Meters project is an idea that promotes environmental protection, social awareness, and activism. These are ideas that Ukraine has longed to accomplish and can achieve by attaining the funding necessary to initiate such a project.
