I lived in Yungay (pop.4,000) in the mountains of Peru from 66-67 as a Rural Developer. Four years after I left, the village was destroyed by an earthquake. I have written a novel about it available here http://www.lulu.com/content/2228178, it's entitled,
Chirp Cricket in the Moonlight, Dance on Bear.
