Steve Fields served as an agroforestry volunteer in Maliq, near Korce from 1995 to 1996. While his primary assignment was sustainable farming practice advising, he spent most of his days contracting, then recovering from mild cases of food poisoning. In February, 1996 he performed the fabled "double flail" with a gaz bombla. For extra beer money he occasionally performed olive oil enemas on his fellow PCVs as a method of combating the rampant constipation brought on by salty white cheese, salc kosi, and gjize.
