4 recipes for your fitness breakfast

Because maybe you don’t really know who you’ve got in your bed: maybe a vegan who just shakes her head in disgust at the sight of butter croissants and latte. Or a health-conscious fit chick who flees when you put a tray of cheap wheat toast and jam in front of her.

Luckily, you have us, because we’ll arm you with SOS breakfast recipes for every eventuality.

1. Breakfast in bed for fit chicks

The perfect breakfast for all fitness fans is definitely protein pancakes. We have an extra fluffy recipe for you, because after all, you want to make a good impression:

Ingredients for protein pancakes (2 persons)

  • 75 g oatmeal
  • 25 g protein powder (vanilla)
  • 5 egg whites
  • 90 g low-fat quark
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or a little sweetener)
  • 125 g berries, your choice

Protein Pancakes without Whey

  1. Mix all ingredients, except the berries, in a bowl and blend with a mixer until smooth.
  2. Then bake in batches (1 tablespoon = 1 pancake) in a non-stick skillet (oil not necessary) on medium heat. Wash berries and serve.

2. Breakfast ideas for low carb fans

You have known your new flame for a while and you already know that she eats a low carb or maybe even ketogenic diet? Then you can forget about rolls and oatmeal for breakfast, because they contain too many carbohydrates. The ideal low carb breakfast is an omelet. Get some ingredients in advance, like tomatoes, salmon or chives. Then ask her about her preferences and prepare her an individual omelette. After all, there are numerous variations. Here is a suggestion:

Ingredients for mushroom-ham omelet (2 servings)

  • 250 g mushrooms
  • 50 g raw ham cubes
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1 tsp chives

Low carb breakfast recipes

  1. Cut mushrooms into thin slices, dice onion finely and fry in 1 tablespoon of oil. Add ham and fry. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Whisk eggs and milk with salt and pepper. Heat butter in the pan and add half of the egg mixture (you will need the rest for the second omelet). Spread the mixture well in the pan and let it set, do not stir!
  3. Put the mushroom-bacon mix on the egg, fold it in half and let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes until done. So it is golden on the outside, but inside not yet completely toasted and nice and juicy. At the end top everything with chopped chives.

3. Vegan recipes for breakfast in bed

You don’t have a clue about vegan nutrition? Never mind, we are happy to help. Bread and rolls usually do not contain animal ingredients, milk or eggs. With the topping it becomes however difficult: Butter, cheese, honey and naturally sausage are absolutely taboo. Our tip: Serve a chia pudding with fruit instead. You can prepare this the night before. Chia seeds and plant milk are now available in every supermarket.

Ingredients for chia pudding with fruit (2 servings)

  • 60 g chia seeds
  • 500 ml vegetable milk (e.B. soy or almond milk)
  • fruit of your choice

As a vegan to the sixpack

  1. Divide chia seeds and vegetable milk (water would also do) into 2 glasses and mix well. Then leave to swell for at least 30 minutes, but better over night. Ready is the pudding.
You can go wild with the fruit topping, because fruits are vegan. Delicious: berries, bananas in combination with nuts or an exotic mix, for example kiwi and mango.

4. Gourmet breakfast in bed for the connoisseur

Your sweetheart does not only let herself go in bed, but is also a real gourmet at breakfast? Jackpot! Then you can prove your dexterity in the kitchen now. The possibilities are endless: for example, serve the classic rolls or croissants with jam, cheese, or a toast. Or how about some hearty eggs and bacon? We have a compromise of both, which is good to eat in bed – without crumbs chaos.

Ingredients for toast muffins with egg and bacon (4 pieces)

  • 4 slices of toast
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tomato
  • Salt, pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 160°C top-bottom heat and grease a muffin tray with a little oil or butter.
  2. Roll out the toast thinly with a rolling pin. Then carefully press one slice of bread into each of the cavities. Remove overlapping dough. Spread a thin layer of mustard and place a slice of bacon in the center.
  3. Now slide an egg into the center of each, salt and pepper it. Press a few pieces of tomato next to the egg.
  4. Bake toast muffins for about 25 to 30 minutes until the egg is set.

By the way, the whole thing also works in the low carb version without toast, then just take an additional slice of bacon to fill the muffin cups well.

With our recipes for a successful breakfast in bed, you will of course not only make an impression on your new one: Such a romantic start to the morning also brings variety into long-standing relationships. Just give it a try!
